If he was like the others at the dinner, he would have cheered at Zhao Geng Nian’s speech like the others.

Zhao Geng Nian stroked his beard and said, "Don’t worry, for those who had their goods stolen or robbed, let the Governor know and my men will follow up with it."
The Governor nodded his head and said to the guests, "Come to me in my office to make your case and I will let the Qing Feng Sect disciples take care of it."
"Thank you, Governor and thank you, Master Zhao!" The guests thanked them and cheered.
Lin Xuan Qi raised an eyebrow at the Governor.
The Governor was now not what he remembered him to be.
It conflicted with the information he had earlier but he couldn’t do much about it.
Maybe the Governor was busy dealing with other issues before Zhao Geng Nian came along with the manpower he needed to keep the law and order?
Or maybe the Governor wanted the Clans and Families to fight it out, depleting their resources before he came in to take advantage of it.
After all, the Governor he knew was an idealist, trying to keep the Clans and Families in check.
He wouldn’t put it past the Governor to do something so drastic and extreme.
After all, that’s what usually happens to idealists when they get crushed by reality and when things don’t go their way.
