Chapter 1700 Starfall Haven!
Chapter 1700 Starfall Haven!
Meanwhile, Max quietly looked around afterward.
Now that he understood the rules, the scene before him immediately made much more sense.
Participants walked through the streets calmly.
Many entered shops and buildings.
Others gathered together to exchange information or rest after fighting outside.
Some wounded participants could even be seen recovering peacefully without worrying about being ambushed.
At that moment, the city suddenly felt completely different from the battlefield regions outside.
Outside the city—
The world was filled with slaughter.
Inside the city—
A strange order existed.
Almost like a temporary sanctuary amidst endless chaos.
Max slowly walked through the streets afterward while observing everything around him carefully.
A faint smile gradually appeared across his face.
"Interesting."
This city clearly possessed a purpose beyond merely providing shelter.
Otherwise, the Eternal Hourglass would never create an entire peaceful zone containing hundreds of thousands of participants.
Which meant one thing.
There were likely opportunities hidden within this city as well.
Meanwhile, after walking through the city for some time, Max realized that simply observing the surroundings would not answer all the questions in his mind.
There were simply too many unusual things about this place. The peaceful zone, the enormous crowds, and the countless shops and buildings all made the city feel far too organized to be a random part of the Eternal Hourglass.
Eventually, Max approached a small group of human participants standing near a large plaza. The moment one of the men saw him, he frowned slightly.
For some reason, Max seemed familiar to him. He felt as though he had seen his face somewhere before, yet no matter how much he thought about it, he could not recall where. Nevertheless, he did not dwell on it for long.
Max directly asked, "Can you tell me what exactly this city is?"
The man looked at him with surprise before replying, "You really do not know? This place is one of the neutral cities scattered throughout the Eternal Hourglass. You can think of it as a giant hub for all participants. As long as you possess enough Killing Points, you can buy almost anything here. Resources, cultivation treasures, rare medicines, powerful weapons, information, maps, inheritances, Divine Ability and even opportunities can all be found within this city. Some people have even obtained legendary treasures here before. Of course, whether you can afford them is another matter entirely."
Max's eyes narrowed slightly as he listened.
The man continued, "This city is not unique either. There are many neutral regions throughout the Eternal Hourglass, although each one is different. Participants eventually visit them because everyone needs resources or information at some point. Fighting is strictly forbidden here because the Eternal Hourglass itself enforces the rules. That is why you see hundreds of thousands of people walking around peacefully despite this being a battle royale."
Max nodded thoughtfully before asking, "What is this city called?"
The man smiled faintly and replied, "This city is called Starfall Haven. It is one of the largest neutral cities in this region of the Eternal Hourglass. Most participants pass through it sooner or later. Looking at you, I would guess you have been spending all your time fighting and hunting Killing Points rather than exploring."
Max chuckled lightly after hearing that.
The man was not wrong.
Ever since entering the Eternal Hourglass, Max had done little besides fight, kill, and search for opportunities.
Now, however, it seemed he had finally discovered a completely different side of the Cosmic Ascension Conference.
After understanding the purpose of Starfall Haven, Max thanked the man and continued exploring the city on his own.
The more he walked through the bustling streets, the more amazed he became by the scale of the place. Everywhere he looked, participants were buying treasures, exchanging information, or searching for opportunities. Some shops sold rare cultivation resources while others specialized in weapons, armor, maps, pills, and inheritances.
Eventually, Max arrived before an enormous pavilion unlike anything he had seen before.
Above the entrance hung a massive golden sign.
Divine Ability Pavilion
The moment Max read those words, his interest was immediately piqued.
Without hesitation, he entered.
Inside, a massive crystal screen floated in the center of the pavilion. Thousands upon thousands of names continuously scrolled across its surface.
Max walked closer and began browsing through them.
Soon, a list of Divine Abilities appeared before him.

As Max continued scrolling through the endless list, his expression gradually became stranger and stranger.
The Divine Abilities themselves were shocking enough.
However—
The prices were even more absurd.
Ten million Killing Points.
That was merely the entry price for the weakest Tier I Divine Ability.
And the higher-tier abilities quickly climbed into hundreds of millions and even billions of Killing Points.
At that moment, Max suddenly looked at his own Killing Point count.
[Current Killing Points: 110,000]
Silence.
A strange expression immediately appeared on his face.
He had previously thought that one hundred and ten thousand Killing Points was already a considerable amount.
After all, he had slaughtered an entire battlefield, farmed multiple lives from participants, and wiped out dozens of rainbow rabbits just to accumulate that amount.
Yet now—
Looking at the Divine Ability Pavilion's prices, Max suddenly felt unbelievably poor.
Very poor.
In fact, he was so poor that even the cheapest Divine Ability was nearly one hundred times beyond his reach.
The corner of Max's mouth twitched slightly.
"I thought I was rich."
He looked once more at the ten-million-Killing-Point price tag of the cheapest Divine Ability.
Then he looked at his own one hundred and ten thousand points.
"I should have known this isn't much when the requirement to enter the secret trial was 500k KP."
For the first time since entering the Eternal Hourglass, Max genuinely felt as though he possessed almost nothing.
