Chapter 1176 - 1215: Have We Met Before?
The doctor advised her to be careful during this period, otherwise the situation might worsen. Mabel Quinn naturally took it to heart.
Atlas Shaw parked the car downstairs at Mabel’s apartment complex, then opened the passenger door and said, "Let me carry you up."
"No need, I can go up with just one foot," Mabel quickly replied.
"Don’t worry, in your current state, I won’t have any improper thoughts about you. Besides, at this hour, there’s no one around to see," Atlas said. "Even if you plan to walk on one foot for a while, at least get a crutch before you exert yourself."
With that, he bent down and picked her up.
Mabel bit her lip slightly and said, "Thank you."
"No need to thank me. This happened because of me today," Atlas said with obvious guilt in his tone.
"Alright, it’s not your fault. The doctor said my injury will heal in about a week," Mabel said. Her only worry now was whether the photos and videos taken by those fans today could really be deleted in time and not spread online.
Fortunately, Atlas had already arranged for someone to handle the matter, but she still felt a faint unease in her heart.
Atlas carried Mabel to the apartment door before putting her down. Mabel took out her keys from her bag, opened the door, and saw Aunt Wu, the nanny, rushing to the door, "Miss Quinn, you’re finally back. Mr. Kinston has been waiting for you for a while."
Mr. Kinston? Mabel was taken aback, and behind her, Atlas also looked surprised.
When they walked into the room, they saw Kyle Kinston standing up from the sofa, his phoenix eyes slowly opening as he looked at the two of them.
Oh my God, why is Kyle here? Mabel was flustered. How long has he been here? Did he... did he see Ivy?
Does he already know that Ivy is her daughter?
The next words from Kyle confirmed her suspicion.
"I really didn’t expect that little girl to be your daughter," Kyle said.
"You... you’ve seen her?" Her body trembled slightly, and Atlas, who was supporting her, clearly sensed Mabel’s odd reaction.
"What, shouldn’t I have seen her?" Kyle retorted.
"No!" she blurted out, but her quick response only made it seem more suspicious.
Sure enough, Kyle’s gaze became sharper, as if he wanted to see through her. Mabel’s unease grew stronger. Almost instinctively, she moved behind Atlas, trying to avoid his gaze, afraid he would figure out that Ivy was his child.
Kyle took slow steps forward, each step echoing in the silence, making Mabel’s heart skip with every sound.
Kyle stood in front of Mabel, not even glancing at Atlas, who was in front of her. His eyes were fixed on her as he said, "Have we met before?"
In an instant, Mabel felt all the blood in her body freeze, her body stiffened severely, and her palms began to sweat coldly.
