Chapter 327: The Sovereign’s Mandate
Chapter 327: The Sovereign’s Mandate
The colossal King Centipede loomed over the ruined plaza, its fifty-meter-long body a terrifying marvel of evolution. Each segment of its exoskeleton was heavily armored in a deep, iridescent purple chitin, a material forged through centuries of ruthless battles in the Third World. Having evolved far beyond the limits of standard small organisms, it had scaled its lethal adaptability to catastrophic proportions, possessing enough highly condensed toxic energy to melt a city block.
"Human, you do know I am a Fusion stage monster! Even this world can’t restrict my powers. Why would I submit to you?" The Centipede asked, staring straight at Mirabella. Its voice did not come from vocal cords, but from the terrifying, high-frequency vibration of its massive mandibles scraping against each other.
To a Fusion stage entity, the dimensional laws of Earth were little more than a mild inconvenience.
"You stupid centipede! If you don’t submit to my Master! You will die right here!! Do you want that?!!!" Vespina yelled, standing behind Mirabella, clearly scared of the Centipede. Her survival instincts were screaming. As a Nine-Star entity, she possessed immense vitality, but she knew perfectly well that the evolutionary gap between her rank and a true Fusion stage apex predator was a chasm that could not be crossed easily.
The Centipede stared at her, its compound eyes dismissing the demoness as mere fodder, and lowered its heavy, multi-eyed gaze at Mirabella, completely ignoring the demon girl.
"You know who is am, right?" Mirabella asked calmly, still caressing Cupcake, not even taking the Centipede as a threat, in fact, nothing can threaten her anymore. The absolute peak of the hierarchy sat comfortably in her bloodlines.
"You’re the last descendant of the great Sun family." The King Centipede answered, its words stunning the demon girl. The name alone carried cosmic weight across multiple dimensional planes.
"Huh?! Master is from the Sun family?!" She yelled in surprise, her red eyes widening as the terrifying puzzle of her Master’s power finally clicked into place.
"Quiet." Mirabella said, shutting up the demoness, and turned to the Centipede:
"You know who I am, but you still want to go against me... Maybe I was wrong, your intellect is low." She said. Her voice was devoid of malice, carrying only the cold, calculating disappointment of a sovereign dealing with a rebellious beast.
The Centipede rose up, its dozens of bladed legs tearing deep trenches into the concrete as it drew itself to its full, towering height, staring down at her:
"I am the King Centipede! A fusion stage monster! I will never recognize a human who isn’t even in the eight stars stage as my Master!" It said, its voice reverberating all over the destroyed building, shattering the remaining glass for miles around with its sheer, oppressive sonic force.
"I already got three gemstones, his will make four of them... And you are in my way."
BOOOOM!!
With Mirabella’s calm words, the very fabric of the sky split opened. The ambient energy violently shifted from a state of chaotic neutrality into absolute, destructive compliance, and a devastating red lightning dropped from the sky, heading straight towards the Centipede.
"This?"
The Centipede was completely shocked by the sudden attack. The casting speed bypassed all its sensory warnings, and it quickly activated its strongest defense.
Mirabella watched as a dense, highly corrosive green energy field appeared around the Centipede, serving as an absolute barrier, and exhaled: "Weak."
BOOOOM!!!
The crimson lightning dropped heavily on the shield, instantly overpowering the Fusion stage energy and shattering it into glass-like fragments of dead energy. Without losing a fraction of its momentum, it kept on moving and smashed right into the Centipede’s armored carapace.
BOOOOM!!
Vespina closed her eyes from the blinding flash of the explosion, and after some seconds, she opened her eyes again, staring at the aftermath. The once-mighty King Centipede was now lying on the ground, its invincible chitin cracked and smoking. Highly acidic, glowing green blood was flowing all over its body, melting the earth beneath it; its colossal health point pool had plummeted, perfectly reaching to exactly 1.
’Whoa! Master actually calculated its health and defense limits, and measured her attack to it, so it won’t kill this guy.’ She thought in surprised, profoundly terrified by the sheer mathematical precision required to leave a Fusion stage monster on the absolute brink of death without accidentally vaporizing its core.
Mirabella finally stood up, staring directly into the dim, weak eyes of the Centipede, and fully activated her Beast Empress bloodline.
A formless, conceptual force smashed into the already weakened centipede. It completely bypassed the physical realm, easily destroying its fractured mental defenses, and seamlessly taking control of both its soul and mind. The laws of loyalty were forcibly rewritten at the core level.
Mirabella exhaled, retracting the oppressive aura, and simply waved her hand. A wave of healing magic washed over the plaza, instantly healing the whole Centipede. The massive cracks in its armor sealed perfectly, and its vitality surged back to maximum. The residual healing effect also washed over Vespina, thoroughly healing her already healed injuries, purifying her demonic core.
The colossal Centipede stood back up, its terrifying aura replaced with complete, docile reverence, and bowed its massive, segmented head deeply at Mirabella: "Greetings, Master."
"Huh?! Hey!! Aren’t you the one who just said you will never bow to her?!!" The Dragon yelled in absolute disbelief, watching the terrifying Fusion stage monster it had sacrificed its blood to summon submit like an obedient pet.
"How dare you?!! Why would I ever say that?!! Master is the supreme Ruler!!" It yelled, aggressively defending Mirabella’s honor. Its voice sending highly concentrated waves of toxic energy all over the place, violently threatening the gatekeeper.
The dragon quickly leaped back to the edge of the gateway, desperately using its remaining abyssal energy to block the Centipede’s highly corrosive, toxic sound waves from melting its armor.
Mirabella tilted her head to the side, completely ignoring the dragon’s panic as she processed the implications of her power:
’I admit, the Beast Empress is indeed powerful!! I am getting really curious here. If the Sun family has such powerful techniques, bloodlines, and abilities, how did they still get annihilated? Even if they sacrifice their lives for sealing some dangerous creatures, it’s still not enough to wipe out the whole clan... I will have to locate mother’s second soul, I want to know more about the Sun family!’ she thought, her resolve to uncover the ancient bloodline hierarchies hardening. She turned and pointed a single finger at the Dragon.
"I don’t have time to waste with you."
A highly condensed, blinding light formed on her finger, warping the spatial coordinates around it, and shot silently towards the dragon like a sniper’s bullet:
"How dare you human!!" It yelled, his pride as a gatekeeper flaring one final time. It aggressively raised his massive battleaxe, channeling all its remaining energy, and violently dropped it on the light bullet to intercept it.
BOOOOM!!!
The Bullet defied physics. It completely paused midair, effortlessly halting the force of the strike, as the dragon’s heavy axe dropped, missing its target.
"Huh?" It looked up at the suspended light in pure confusion, which immediately shot forward again with doubled velocity.
"This?"
BAM!!!
The light bullet plunged right into its thick chest plate, effortlessly bypassing its physical and magical resistance, bursting violently out from the back in a shower of dark blood and shattered scales.
The Dragon froze for a long, agonizing moment, its internal strength completely failing as black blood flowed down its mouth: "How can humans have such a monster? What will happen if she returns to the fourth world?" It muttered, realizing the entire geopolitical balance of Galaxy Fall was about to be destroyed, as its body finally shattered into fine ashes.
Mirabella opened her palm, as the glowing gemstone flew from the pile of ashes, and landed softly on her palm.
"Master is too great!! Where next?!!" Vespina yelled, her red eyes sparkling with bloodlust and excitement, gleefully jumping up and down like a hyperactive child promised a trip to an amusement park.
"To Staten Island, where the strongest dragon gatekeeper is located. Not only that, the military once dropped a nuclear weapon on it, so it’s the most dangerous place." Mirabella said, casually storing the stone into her inventory. She spoke of nuclear devastation as if it were simply a change in the weather, fully prepared to navigate the radioactive zone.
"We are going now, right?" Vespina asked in anticipation, eager to test her might alongside the new supreme legion.
"Yup." Mirabella simply nodded her head, her gaze already fixed on the distant horizon where the final, most catastrophic rift awaited them.
