Chapter 410 - 356: New Intelligence and the Acquisition of 300 Pegasi
Raylo didn’t make a sound, not wanting to disturb her.
For some reason, the scene filled his heart with a sense of peace.
The once cold and lonely castle finally felt like a warm home.
As if sensing his gaze, Avril looked up. The moment she saw him, her serious expression melted away, and her eyes curved into crescent moons.
"You’re awake?"
"My dear wife, are you planning to steal all my work?"
Raylo walked over, wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, and gently rested his chin on her shoulder.
"It’s just some plans for resource allocation."
Avril handed him a document.
"Look, the first shipment of supplies has already been loaded at Baisha Port and is expected to arrive at Black Stone Castle in half a month. As for the craftsmen you urgently need, my father has already sent people to contact the major artisan guilds. The list and information for the first batch of five hundred people should arrive as soon as tomorrow."
She spoke quickly and clearly, having obviously planned everything out meticulously.

[2: The Nine-headed Demon Serpent is undergoing another molting. This is a long process, and if successful, its power will break through to the Catastrophe Level, achieving another leap in strength. To do so, it requires a massive amount of Life Energy, which is the root cause of its minions’ violent invasions.]
[3: In the western Jade Swamp, the Black King’s minions have completed the construction of a Bone Fortress. In three days, the Catastrophe Level Necromancer, Modi Caesar, will arrive to complete a transaction with the Black King. A group of tree spirits lives in this Giant Wood Forest, and anyone who rashly approaches the ten-thousand-year-old ancient tree will be attacked by its guardian tree spirits.]

In the Mage Realm, Mage Wendel is known as the "Omni-Mage."]
[7: Three thousand four hundred kilometers north of the Black Stone Mountain Range, the Frost Giant Tribe of Ice Wind Valley has mobilized in full force to attack the White Dragon, the overlord of the Frost Fall Mountain Range. Enraged by the theft of their Holy Artifact, the Frost Giants not only defeated the White Dragon’s Magical Beast Legion, but their king personally tore the White Dragon apart with his bare hands, ripping off its wings and tearing out its heart. Suddenly, a thunderous roar of cheers erupted from outside the castle, interspersed with the excited shouts and commands of Knights.
"What’s happening?"
Avril stood up curiously and walked to the window.
Raylo followed her and pushed open the window.
Below, on the castle’s massive training ground, soldiers and subjects who had heard the commotion had gathered at some point, crowding the area.
In the sky above, a colossal Golden Dragon was slowly folding its wings. Its hundred-meter-long body seemed as if it were cast from pure gold in the morning light, each Dragon Scale reflecting a brilliant, dazzling gleam.
It was Sun.
Behind Sun, the Knights of Black Stone Castle flew in a neat formation, surrounding a large, white "cloud."
It was not a cloud.
They were Pegasi.
Over three hundred magnificent Pegasi. Their snow-white wings were spread in the air, their forms elegant, yet they were temporarily restrained with ropes by the Knights, appearing somewhat restless and agitated.
At the head of the formation, Personal Guard Captain Ed was mounted on a formidable warhorse. Behind him, the members of the Moonlight Knight Order were covered in the dust of their journey, yet their ranks remained immaculate, exuding a palpable, deadly aura.
Avril covered her mouth, her violet eyes wide with shock.
"Heavens... So many Pegasi."
Raylo’s gaze swept over the three hundred Pegasi, his expression calm.
He descended from the tower, walked through the corridors, and arrived at the square in front of the castle’s main keep.
By now, the Golden Dragon Sun had landed. Its enormous head was held slightly aloft, its golden eyes gazing disdainfully upon its surroundings as it basked in the adoring gazes of the crowd.
Ed dismounted and strode quickly to Raylo.
"Lord, I have fulfilled my mission."
Ed’s voice was steady and strong, betraying no hint of fatigue.
"How did the battle go?"
Raylo asked.
"As you arranged, we set out last night and reached the Church Knights’ encampment in the Crying Valley before dawn."
Ed reported concisely.
"Lord Sun initiated the attack with his Dragon Mighty, stunning the Pegasi in the enemy camp and preventing them from taking flight."
"I then led the Moonlight Knight Order in a surprise attack. One hundred Pegasus Knights patrolled the perimeter, sealing off all escape routes. The entire battle was over within half an hour."
Ed paused, his tone unwavering.
"All three hundred Church Knights were annihilated. None escaped. We suffered no fatalities, with only a dozen Knights sustaining minor injuries that are not serious. We captured three hundred Pegasi and three hundred sets of high-quality knight equipment."
Ed lowered his voice.
"The bodies of the Church Knights have all been sunk into the muck of the Jade Swamp, leaving no trace behind."
Three hundred elite, fully-equipped Church Knights, many of them experienced veterans, were thus cleanly wiped out in a quarter of an hour.
Raylo’s gaze fell once more upon the group of Pegasi temporarily corralled in the square.
Overnight, the number of Pegasi in Black Stone Territory had nearly doubled.
"Well done."
Raylo patted Ed’s shoulder.
"The entire force is to rest for a day. The wounded are to receive immediate treatment, and their compensation will be doubled. Tell the kitchens to prepare an extra feast for tonight."
"Yes, Lord!"
The Knights behind Ed responded in unison.
Raylo turned to Ed.
"Take these Pegasi to the Pegasus Ranch immediately."
"And this equipment."
Raylo’s gaze swept over the piles of armor and weapons.
"Send it all to the smelting workshop—every last piece. Melt it down into molten iron. Handle this yourself. I don’t want a single trace of their existence left in Black Stone Territory."
"Melt it into molten iron?"
Ed was slightly taken aback.
This was three hundred sets of fine Knight Armor and weapons, enough to outfit an entire new elite unit.
"That’s right. Don’t leave so much as a single rivet."
Ed asked no more questions and immediately accepted the order.
"Yes, Lord."
