Chapter 260 - 259: Things Have Gotten Complicated
Nathan Foster didn’t rush to enter the door. He took out his phone and called Vincent.
Vincent answered and was still annoyed by being woken up.
"Dad, dear dad... I’ll call you dad, okay? Can we not disturb people’s dreams in the middle of the night?"
Vincent was on the verge of tears. In his life, what he feared most was someone calling him at midnight, so his phone was always on silent.
But ever since Vincent started treating South Grant, Nathan made him set his phone to a special ringtone, just in case he couldn’t hear it.
"I don’t have a rebellious son like you." Nathan retorted unceremoniously.
"Damn!" Vincent cursed angrily, then sat up from the bed, saying irritably, "Is it that androgynous girl causing trouble again?"
Only South Grant could make Nathan call him in the middle of the night; no one else had that privilege.
"South never knows the existence of the secondary personality in her day-to-day life. She has no memory of all the things done by her secondary personality. Do you think the two personalities are interconnected?"
"Of course not. He knows nothing about the other secondary personality. It’s her hidden personality and the two personalities are not interconnected." Vincent explained to Nathan.
"Then if her secondary personality knows everything about her primary personality, all the words her primary personality has said, things she has done, the people she has interacted with, the secondary personality knows it all?" Nathan said while staring at the cabinet on the wall and the secret door.
Vincent, who was originally sleepy, suddenly became wide awake upon hearing Nathan’s words, entirely losing his sleepiness.
"What did you say? Say it again?"
"I said, if the secondary personality knows the words the primary personality has said, the things she’s done, the people she’s interacted with, what kind of situation would that be?"
"Oh damn!" Vincent couldn’t help but curse and then nervously explained to Nathan:
"This is the scariest situation, indicating that her secondary personality is strong while the primary personality is weak.
The secondary personality may very likely kill the primary personality to gain control over the body, meaning she might become like the secondary personality in the future, and the primary personality will disappear forever."
Nathan: "..."
Nathan didn’t know much about psychology, but hearing Vincent say this gave him a chilling feeling, a cold sensation that shot straight up from his feet to his heart.
The secondary personality will kill the primary personality, and the primary personality will disappear forever...
Nathan couldn’t imagine what it would be like if South Grant’s primary personality disappeared.
"Her secondary personality doesn’t appear often. It’s her primary personality that’s active now, so why is the primary personality weak and the secondary personality strong?"
This was something Nathan couldn’t understand. The secondary personality had only appeared two or three times, so why was it overriding the primary personality?
"I’m afraid you won’t understand the professional terminology, so let me explain simply. It means her secondary personality can override the primary personality because her secondary personality has strong survival skills and is highly revengeful or purposeful.
The primary personality, due to a bland life or lack of attachments, lacks the strong survival skills. If she encounters some setbacks in life, she may be unable to bear it and want to escape, thus giving the secondary personality a chance, and she might be overcome by it."
Vincent explained, and Nathan understood.
This means that if South Grant doesn’t have much ambition or her wishes are fulfilled with no attachments, her presence becomes weak.
When her presence becomes weak, that’s when the secondary personality will take the dominant position, suppressing her.
Right now, South Grant still has unfulfilled wishes, so her body is led by the primary personality.
