Chapter 378: Courting Death
Chapter 378: Courting Death
Moreover, judging by the way Nathaniel Nathan and his men fought as a team, you could tell they were experts from a security company even without uniforms. A typical security firm wouldn’t possess such high combat capabilities; they had to be an elite force.
Coming from Wallace Security, Leo Wright was an expert on the industry. He couldn’t quite figure out Nathaniel Nathan’s identity, or why he was still here after his mission was complete.
After receiving Susan Caldwell’s signal, Director Lewis personally took out a pair of handcuffs and said, "That’s right, she’s a drug dealer. I’m ordering you to return to the station with me for investigation immediately! Anyone who obstructs this will be considered an accomplice!"
Susan Caldwell immediately turned to Nathaniel Nathan with a look of concern. "Sir, you should probably stay away from this young lady. She’s really not a good person."
Nathaniel Nathan’s gaze fell coldly upon her. The stare made her a little uncomfortable, yet she was secretly delighted. She had always known she was unusually beautiful with a distinguished air, and his intense gaze filled her with joy.
A faint blush appeared on her face as she said softly, "Sir, I think we should stand aside and not get involved in this."
After speaking, she wanted to take his hand, but then thought that since it was their first meeting, being too forward wouldn’t be very modest. So, she pulled her hand back and looked at him with a shy, bashful smile.
Chief Lewis felt this was a golden opportunity to prove himself. He glared fiercely at Vera Xavier and snarled, "You’re coming back to the station with me."
With that, he moved to handcuff Vera Xavier.
Susan Caldwell’s act made Vera want to vomit. In her past life, she never knew how Susan and Nathaniel Nathan had met. Now it seemed clear: Nathaniel’s mission was a fixed event, and Susan was always meant to show up here. They must have met in this very place in her past life.
Seeing Susan’s fawning behavior toward Nathaniel Nathan, and then remembering her past life, Vera’s hands suddenly started to itch.
So, as Chief Lewis brought the handcuffs over to restrain her, she was about to backhand him across the face. But someone else was faster. A single kick sent the Chief flying a good ten feet away. His portly body rolled smoothly across the ground several times before slamming heavily into the wall.
This sudden turn of events left everyone, except for Vera Xavier, completely stunned. Vera, on the other hand, clicked her tongue in her mind. ’Young Master Nathan is as brutal as ever! But... I like it!’
The officers Chief Lewis had brought with him were the quickest to react. Some drew their guns, others their batons.
Nathaniel Nathan gave a cold smile. His figure blurred as he moved, his hands like the wind. He disarmed all of them in an instant and, for good measure, delivered a slap to each of their faces. It all happened so fast that the officers were left completely dazed.
Chief Lewis was thick-skinned. Despite such a powerful kick, he wasn’t seriously injured and managed to sit up. He roared hoarsely, "You dare assault a police officer!"
He reached for the gun at his waist but grabbed only air.
Nathaniel Nathan twirled the guns in his hands. In a few deft moves, the two firearms he had confiscated were reduced to a pile of parts within three seconds.
Chief Lewis had never seen such a feat before. He was completely dumbfounded, frozen in place. He couldn’t help but ask, "Who are you?"
Then he added loudly, "You dared to assault an officer! Just you wait, you’ll rot in jail for this!"
Nathaniel Nathan completely ignored him. He walked straight over to Alistair Forrest and plucked the large mobile phone from his waist. Alistair’s two bodyguards started to move, but he stopped them. Alistair was now thoroughly intrigued by Nathaniel Nathan.
